Let's have an honest conversation about AI and jobs.

Not the hype version. Not the doomsday version. The real one.

Some jobs WILL be significantly impacted. Data entry. Basic content writing. Simple code generation. Routine customer service. Initial document review. Bookkeeping. Translation of standard documents.

But "impacted" doesn't always mean "eliminated." It often means "transformed." The customer service agent who used to answer 30 tickets a day now handles 100 — with AI doing the routine ones and the human handling complex cases. They're more valuable, not less.

Jobs that are GROWING because of AI: AI engineers (obviously). AI trainers and evaluators. Prompt architects. AI ethicists. Human-AI interaction designers. Domain experts who can work alongside AI. AI-augmented specialists in every field.

The pattern I see: AI eliminates tasks, not entire jobs. The people who lose out are those who refuse to adapt. The people who thrive are those who learn to work WITH AI.

My honest advice: don't panic, but don't be complacent. Learn to use AI tools in your current role. Develop skills that complement AI — creativity, judgment, empathy, complex problem-solving. And stay adaptable.

The job market in 5 years will look different. But "different" has always been true. The engineers and professionals who keep learning will be fine. They always have been.
