300+ posts. Here's the single most important thing I've learned about the AI job market.

It rewards builders. Not talkers. Not planners. Not certificate collectors. Builders.

The engineer who built a mediocre RAG system and deployed it gets hired over the one who watched 50 hours of RAG tutorials. The founder who shipped an imperfect AI product gets funded over the one with a perfect pitch deck and no prototype.

Every successful AI career I've observed — including my own — follows the same pattern:

Build something. Ship it. Learn from what broke. Build something better. Ship it again. Repeat for years.

The market doesn't care about your credentials. It cares about what you can create. Your GitHub is your resume. Your deployed projects are your interview. Your ability to solve real problems is your salary negotiation.

The AI market in 2026 is the most rewarding technical job market in history. The tools are accessible. The demand exceeds supply by a massive margin. The problems are fascinating. The compensation is extraordinary.

But the opportunity has a shelf life. As more engineers develop AI skills, the premium will normalize. The time to establish yourself is now — while the gap between demand and supply is widest.

Stop planning. Start building. The next line of code you write could be the beginning of the career you've been imagining.

Build. Ship. Learn. Repeat.

That's the entire strategy. Everything else is noise.
