200 posts later, I'm even more convinced: the best time to start building AI is today.

Not because the market is hot (it is). Not because the salaries are good (they are). But because we're at a moment in history where a single engineer with a laptop can build things that would have required a team of 50 just five years ago.

The tools are accessible. The models are open. The knowledge is freely available. The community is welcoming.

What's stopping most people isn't skill — it's starting. The gap between "I want to learn AI" and "I'm building AI" is exactly one project wide.

Pick a problem you care about. Something small. Something personal. Build the worst version of it. Then make it less bad. Then make it good. Then make it great.

That cycle — build, break, fix, improve — is the entire game. Everything else is commentary.

I started with zero ML knowledge and an internet connection. 250+ systems, 3 books, 7 papers, a UK patent, and a programming language later — the only thing that was special about my journey was that I started.
